Did anyone else do this with a 2008 and want to comment?

I was thinking about trying something different... leaving the snorkel alone and then cutting a large hole in the bottom of the stock box so its totally open (hoping for more noise at the possible sacrifice of more heat soak.)

OK I just got done.

My two p3nni3s:
For the amount of time that this took to do (which wasn't much at all, approx: 20min) I would say that this was a "fun" and "profitable" project for anybody rolling all stock and/or with a drop in air filter. I have and 07' with 7000k on it, and I looked at this project as merely a chance to get to know my car better.

True there is no notice of gains (as said previously), and I would agree with one posting that said, "the noise is a mix between a sneeze and a cat hissing."

I posted some pics of the the job because this was on a 07', and I don't know how different the job is between years, but I don't remember seeing anything previously posted about the shown steps.

A. On the 07's there is a bolt underneath, that connects the "tumor" to the body that must be removed.

B. It was alot easier for me to remove the ram air to reach the upper bolt.

C. Funnzies.... I went with this approach and I sanded the lip, because eventually, I think I'm gonna go with that tube to the foglight bezzel (like shown in the previous posting/s...)

GO WITH GOD..
thanks that was fun
