Yes. The snorkle allows air to go into the fender well and there is also air coming in thru a slit up front (In the fog lamp cover on the '05). I is possible to direct the air with duct piping in the fender well directly to the air box from the front of the car. I'm not sure what the best config is.

I like this idea of cutting off the resonator and leaving the elbow... but assuming there is enough air in the fender I doubt you really need the elbow there at all, unless of course you want to keep the snorkel in your engine bay. Also, you can buy a fender plug to close that hole so you aren't sucking engine air through. Additionally people remove the plastic restriction from the airbox, opening the hole like another 1" in diameter.

this is how i would do it, and then reseal the gap with some foamy material.

I totally removed the snorkus and the intake snorkle. Just like the post above I removed the rubber gasket and sealed the front hole. I then used duct tape to seal the hole in the air box to the hole in the fender. Voila! Instant ghetto CAI.

I think I'm going to try to get a housing for a foglight and take the light out of it and use it to funnel cold air in.

I bought a used "Ram air" shroud and blocked the end and cut a hole pointing at the air filter...Seems good.

Would this do any good with an ARC induction box, or just overkill?

id say its good with anything. if you go CAI, it will need to be removed anyways. its just a big piece of plastic. id take it out with the arc.

i think, from what im possibly understanding through reading many forums about the intake topic and whatnot, that this would be a better advantage than having to get an aftermarket one primarily for sounds purposes since the aftermarket can lose your low end torque ...

An aftermarket intake does not equal loss of low end torque.

i didnt think so but thats what i keep reading stating that the aftermarket ones allow for heat from the engine bay enter into the intake itself

Thats why you need some help with the addition of cold air.

Thanks.

EDIT: Just read thread entirely. Think I will just saw off bottom and leave open while also running a K&N Filter. Seems like I'll get more cold air that way. Your does look pretty though.

Just did mine... sounds good! Also, it's a lot easier to get to the back bolt from behind the fog light cover in an 05.
