I remember reading that happened to someone and it just blended together over time + some polish. Any truth to this??

Get a can of 3M Adhesive Remover. Harmless to paint, works on tar, bubble gum, etc. Removes wax, so rewax when done. In California, which is increasingly run by lunatics,3M is now banned;I buy it by mail.

How do you remove the Rear Subaru Badge....do you simply just pry it off carefully without scratching the paint? I want to replace the factory with an I badge or carbon fiber star badge.

correct. this was done to prevent 06-7 owners from removing them like most 04-5 owners did.

I'm an ASE certified body tech, working on the ICAR certs, and have a fair amount of body shop experience, so take it FWIW. I use a metal scraper to break through the adhesive and get the emblem off, careful not to scratch the paint. There's a couple mm of clearance, so it's really not that hard. The floss or fishing line is an awesome idea for someone less confident. After that though, rather than goo gone or even 3M adhesive remover, do yourself a favor and get an eraser wheel. Any auto body supply store will have them. Put it in a drill and spin it slowly to remove everything left behind. It won't scratch the paint, it removes everything quickly and without a wait time. Additionally, you can put it directly on stickers and rub them off just like that, it just peels them right off. It's an awesome tool to have.
