06 tailights

can you do the same thing you do to the headlights with the tailights to paint them?

Should be the same process. They're both just housings, nothing really different between them.

nothing differewnt expect that the tails are fused together, basically melted shut, while the headlamps have sealent between the two halves.

If you want to open the tails, use a dremel and cut all the way around.

me and silence8 are the only two with painted 06 tails as far as i know...

unfortunetly you do have to cut em open, however, in my opinion it was a lot easier than doing the headlights and was extremely simple.

And here's how the tails look blacked out on a white wrx (silence8)

However, if i had a white wrx, id paint the tail lights white on the inside and id paint the headlights white on the inside as well.. so white tails with these headlights would look nice.

also, if anyone is interested... this website has factory paint colors in spray can form, so now you can get that exact color match. Just enter your car and model year.

the tails look hot-fire like that. i would do it, but mine came color matched from the factory. sgm ftw

im waiting for someone to do it in blue, we are gonna paint both the headlights and tail lights on my friend adams world rally blue 06 sti... its gonna look amazing. Beat me to it and dont let me do it first, try it this weekend and send some pics...
