$20 and they are well built. harbor freight is hit or miss. these are a hit, imo.
I use the Harbor Freight jack stands as well as they have a deeper groove cut in them then the Sears jackstands that were available here.

You mean the "widow maker" jacks God, I remember using the oem VW jack on a Fox once to change a tire, never been more scared while working on a car.

I've heard that using subframe for jack points is not a good idea. it will damage the subframe. location rite behind the subframe will be a better spot.

i'm not saying it's ok to get under that car using the supplied jack. but on that note, if you can make the car fall on flat, solid surface, with the wheels staked, using the supplied jack, you need help. the supplied jack is very solid compared to the ones supplied with previous cars i've owned or seen.

you can jack it up there. why not just use that jack up plate up front and the rear differential?

I'd rather jack front, then the rear instead of lifting each side to get it on stands. The way my jack stand cradles are oriented at the pinch welds makes it much more stable to go front then rear when lifting.

my jack isnt that long, and the lip doesn't help, so i have barely any leverage for the jack.

i found the rear jack stand points, but there aren't any identical ones to the front.. i was told not to use the pinch welds as a jack stand, but as a jack point.. any help on the front jack stand points?

thanks.

The front pinch welds are perfect for jack stand points, I just used them last weekend. PERFECT. Get jack stands with a nice deep cradle. Drive up on bricks or 2x4s to get clearance for your jack, get creative. This really isn't all that difficult.

Regarding jack stand points, I use the pinch welds. I used a hammer to "gently" bend them down so now I don't have to worry about them collapsing when I'm under there. If your pinch welds are bent before you get under there, you have NOTHING to worry about. I really don't see why people are so against putting stands under bent ones.

Also, FYI there is a much longer thread on this in the sticky. You many find a few more opinions there as well.

These look like they might work well. The cut out seems large enough that it wont affect the pinch weld.
