Ok here's one for you guys. I'm looking for a good jack spot for the rear. The sides are out because I like to put the jack stands on the rails inside the pinch welds (so I don't bend them) plus I don't want to have to jack the car up twice to get the back up. Obviously I should use the rear diff but I'm running the Prodrive diff shield and so I'm not sure if I should still use it as a jack point. My main concern is the back bracket for the shield uses 2 of the diff cover bolts as mount point so instead of putting the load on the diff its on the cover bolts.

Any other ideas for jack points or am I just being a candy @ss and should just use the diff (with a hockey puck to avoid scratchs)?

bump for any suggestions.

Also I emailed prodrive and they confirmed that with the rear diff shield in place you shouldn't use the diff as a jack point

Honestly I got nothing for you on that one. Sounds like you will have to use the jack twice in this situation.

Very nice pics and if they were intended to help the OP then I'm sure they will. If they were in response to my post though they still don't don't offer me any help. The problem is with the Prodrive rear diff shield the diff is no longer a viable rear jack point. I guess I'm just going to take the thing off.

I've been jacking my FXT up by the rear diff (with a Primitive diff shield in place) for three years with no issues.

Not sure what Prodrive is so concerned about...

Good to know. How does the primitive shield mount up? On the prodrive the back bracket is secured with 2 of the diff cover bolts.

And Prodrive's response was a little cryptic. They said no I shouldn't jack there but instead use the "factory" jack locations. But the diff is a "factory" jack point...

I just need to install the built in jacks like F1 cars have

It mounts up the same way. No distortion or leaking diff cover or anything I can think of they would be worried about.

One thing I've found that works well for me if I don't want to mess up the jack point - HOCKEY PUCKS in the cup of the jack!
