This will take a few hours to get done. This install is for the PROSPORT ELECTRIC BOOST GAUGE. If you have any other questions, just post here please. Posting is better then PMing so i wont have to answer the same question twice

Tools/others: Wire stipper, zip ties, philips screw driver, extra wiring, either solder or wire connectors, electric tape.

Optional: New boost lines, Brass T. These can be purchased from any car store (autozone bla bla).

Im assuming everyone knows how to take their deck out and other things. And whenever your dealing with wiring you should always remove the NEGATIVE battery terminal.

With that out the way, let the mission begin!

First off, you will have to extend the wires both on the boost gauge and on the sender unit. I solderd mine then put electric tape over that area. If you cant solder just use wire connectors they'll work just fine. I only had so many colors so my wires arnt the same color as stock, but i explain which wires should go where. I wired my gauge so its white when the lights are off, and then amber with lights on.

For power i solder the red 12v wire to this black wire. My red wire is green because thats all i had and i had to make it longer.





Then i tapd the white wire (white light) into this green/red wire. You can tap it in, but i just stuck mine in there. I used thicker wires so mines stuck in there pretty good and i slapped a lot of electric tap over it. You can see this spot better in the pic above this one.



The orange wire (amber light) I ran to this purple wire. Its off the deck harness. Just tap'd into it and solderd.

Under the hood - I also added more wiring to that unit that goes under the hood. It consists of 3 wires. White, red and black. White goes from the sender to the boost gauge. Black is ground. Red is power. And you have to tap into your stock BPV. Your going to have to extend your wires. So dont mind mine since there different colors.

So first, lets tap into the BPV.
I didnt use the hosing it came with because it was to hard to fit over things, and i didnt use their T because it broke. I bought a brass T and hosing from kragens. Your going to tap into the BPV hose. I didnt cut mine, i just unhooked it and used a different hose to go to the BPV from the T. The line that goes back to the sender is where you put that little white filter. If you dont have that filter dont worry about it. Then make sure everything is zip tied and leave some slack in the hosing, just in case.



For the ground i used a 10mm bolt. Mines red, but the ground is the BLACK wire. I grounded here. Theres already a hole there so i just screwed the bolt in and it threaded itself



For power first losen the positive terminal. Then wrap the red wire around the positive and then tighten it.



The white wire goes to the green one off the boost gauge. There is a hole in the firewall behind the brake pedle. Easiest way is to put the wire in a hose then shove it threw the firewall from inside the car. Try to AIM the hose up towards the hood. I had to do this a couple times then i was able to grab the hose from under the hood.



I dont have the cleanest install but im not that picky. I dont mind how stuff looks and it works great.

Now if you want the colors to be the other way around im guessing you can just hook up the white and orange wires the other way around. If you want one color then hook up the wire (which ever color you want) to that spot on the headlights switch by the steering wheel. That should have the gauge to where it will be on when the car is on and stay the same when the lights are on.

Anyways hope this helps ppl out. After like 8hrs of trying to figure it out, im happy with this gauge. Sweeps and the 2 colors is a nice feature. It seems very accurate. I compared it with my cobb live boost and its close to dead on. Only thing thats weird is the cobb live reads pretty high vacum, i think compared to any gauge. Other then that boost is pretty on. So yeah if anyone installed theres differently let us know. Thanks!! And good luck!!

i'm sure someone will chime in. what you're going through right now is the reason why i waited for a write up on the install for my boost gauge, before actually going ahead with the install. it took a couple of days for someone to respond, but i got it! hope you find the answer to your woes (no pun intended)

Which do you have, Defi? Im confused because i need to tap for: igniton, ACC, and parking lamp and i dont know which wires to tap into. How did you hook up your gauge?

OK i taped into a purple wire on the deck harness for power. And then into the harness for the paking light switch and it turns amber when the lights are on. So now i just need to figure out how to make it white when the car is on but lights off...

Yea thanks for turning your frustration and troubles into a solution for others. Adding to a community in any way you can just helps others who were in your situation to become part of the community.

I will probably be installing this gauge some day soon, where did you end up mounting it on the dash? Also, if you want to make this into a high quality DIY you should probably break it down into single operation steps so you don't have people PM'ing you the same questions for the next two years. (if you remember all of them) Also a tools list and expected time assuming you know what to do

I updated it. Had some problems with the first wiring the next day. So i rewired now its fine. Ill try for a higher quality DIY later on, maybe i can get this to a sticky first
