^Yeah, I was the one. Unfortunately, my gauge was screwed right from the get go.

The Premium's are set up a bit different than your gauge. I think the sender is shot on mine... but regardless, I only have to tap for power once. Then I can daisy chain the rest of the gauges together and get power to the EGT, OP, and Boost sender from that one power source. The EGT and OP are working perfectly... the boost, not so much.
I have my gauges in a clock pod, so I tapped everything there. Then I just wired everything through the firewall and zip-tied everything away for cleanliness

Great job!! If you don't mind I will be adding this link for anyone with questions (even if they are from other forums) who knows maybe you'll gain some members. Thanks again for your help to the community. BTW the Premium Series, as stated earlier is wired slightly different.

sorry for the revival of the old thread but this was the most useful on my install so i figured i would ask my question here.
the basics:
red is connected into the clock power
black is grounded
orange runs to purple on deck harness as the OP did
white goes into green under terminal as OP did

problem:
i cant get the gauge to swtich over to orange when i hit the headlights. it will change to orange with the "parking light?" (one setting before headlights come on) on but not with the headlights. everything else like white illumination is fine.

anyone have a solution to this one? i also have an aftermarket headunit and im not sure if that affects the section i tapped in to.

Since you have an STi, you should be able to tap the orange wire into one of the wires in that water sprayer button. Since it has a light in it that turns on when the lights are on, it can be used as the illuminator for the gauge. I dont no which wire it is, but you can use a voltage tester to find out. Look for the wire that has 12v with the car on and then below negative when its off. Either way you do it thats the type of wire youll need for the orange wire.

i tried both the water sprayer and the extra foglight connections behind the dash and neither work. this is kind of irritating that i can get orange but not when the headlights are on . anyone else have any ideas?

I just installed my Prosport Premium 52mm today.. I wired it so that its white during the day and amber for night...but can someone tell me how to program the peak setting?

Also, is the gauge supposed to be a "dim" amber? its not exactly as bright as the cluster gauges...

I was under the assumption that you can program the premium ones to change the backlight color during different situations such as peak boost or high temps, depending on gauge type, but I guess Ive read differently.

So they only change from white to amber or amber to white by the way you wire them. I guess I will be getting the non premiums for Oil Temp and Oil Press.

Great writeup! I wonder how easy it is for those with the factory boost gauge.

hold the peak button down, you'll see the needle swing up to max. let go of the button, then press and hold once more. as you hold it, you'll see the needle go down, let go of the button once you get to your chosen peak boost i.e. 21 psi. then you're done.

I got mine wired so it's amber all the time. At night its ok, in the day it's too dim for my taste. I'm considering wiring it for white during the day. Those of you that have it installed with white during the day, is it bright enough?

I will be doing my install in a week or so... I have the Premium 60mm EGT, BOOST and Oil press... My main concern is getting the sender wires to the engine bay. Any tips? Also do you guys think it would look good using the prosport pod and installing them on to of the clock??

i just installed the boost sensor for my gauge, but dont like the plastic Tee that came with it. Where can i pick up a brass or metal Tee that will fit the BPV line and also fit the really small tubing that connects to the boost sensor? I have looked at almost all hardware and auto parts stores and have yet to find a Tee.

I used a gauge pod that mounts up in the front left corner of the dash.

It's an MB Gauge pod

OK so I just did a test wiring because i still don't have the pod... Found something very easy that worked really good... Didn't even need to tab and is fully returnable to stock... I used the same harness from the clock and just put the wires into the sucket... In the clock it had labels for each pin so I knew before starting where to wire everything. Besically did Red to BAT, Black to Ground, Amber to ILL and White to ACC... It work perfectly... Now I have to find a way to attach that so that it won't move (electrical tape)... I did made sure that no wire is exposed so that it wouldn't short out my gauges... I will post some vids of that first trial
