An$wer,
What do you (or anyone else that is reading) think about tapping all the wires into the harness for the stock gauges. It makes sense to me that all the wires I need should be there, except for the wire from the sending unit of course. I do not have much experience with car electonics, wiring, etc. and I am just looking for a second opinion. I plan on mounting the gauge in ths ame position that you did and I figure I can just drill a small hole on the outside of the bezel and run the wires a short distance to the tachometer harness. Your thoughts?

Yeah I dont see why not? Just find/use the correct wires and they should all be there.

Okay I can't get the gauge to dim with my headlights....the instructions say that the orange wire is for dimming, but I cannot find the right wire to use the dimmer. If I attach both the white and red (12V) wire to the black ignition wire the gauge will stay white with the lights on or off, which is good. There must be a dimmer wire coming out of the dimmer switch for the stock gauges but I have tried them all and nothing works...I am lost and the instructions were seriously written by a stooge... HELP!

I asked Prosport about that and they said the 52mm premium boost guage I was eyeballing does not dim with the headlights. This is why I opted out of GB.

I dont think they dim... that is why mine is set amber at night and white for daily. That white is very bright at night. Try hooking up your orange wire to the purple wire on the deck harness. I have a pic of it somewhere up top. That should work, its also my best educated guess

Also which boost gauge do you have? If it has the same wires as the one i installed or similar ones then try installing it exactly how i did mine. I dont think you want to have the red/white wires going to the same place. I tried that and ran into a problem sorta...

if you don't hook up the white or the orange wire, you get a look about identical to the stock gauges.

The gauges don't dim. At all. It's either white or amber - full on, either one.

It's a matter of voltage... someone on NASIOC tried to alter the brightness setting by reducing the voltage. There's a hard floor of the minimum voltage required to keep the gauges lighted. Below that point, they turn off. Above it, they're on.

As for wiring, and no offence to TheAnswer, but I wouldn't have electrical wires running through my engine bay. You can tap absolutely everything from inside the car - all from the center console.
1) 12V ignition (I think red prosport wire... check the stooge's instructions for which wire is which) - Tap the green w/ black stripe from the hazard switch.
2) 12V Constant - tap the blue w/red stripe at the clock harness
3) Ground - tap the black ground at the clock
4) Illumination - your choice. Either tap it for a white/amber display, or leave it off (like I did) for amber all the time.

Yeah i followed the instructions and it said tap into the bay. I dont mind it since its only like 2 wires. Ground and power. If you run everything back into the car then youd have to add a lot of wiring. It would probably have a cleaner look to it though. To each their own! BTW did you ever install yours? I think you PMd me with some questions... or am i getting the wrong guy?
