Actually, the grounding kit will smooth out both your horsepower and torque curves if you run the car on a dyno. But as far as gaining more power, negligable and not worth the money for a must do mod on new cars. If you are going to run a big stereo system in your car they can be beneficial then too.

I just made my own kit out of 5Ga cable. Theres an install on a STi in last months Sport Compact Car ( I think that was the Magazine). It gained -2Hp and +7 Ftlb Tq... How reliable are the numbers... I dont know. I gained about half a volt on the voltmeter, the car seems to rev up better. No clue on the power gain, if any. This seems like a mod that sounds good on paper but, maybe money can be spent other places. Also... another good article on installing a relay and thicker wire on your fuel pump in Turbo this month (I think... LOL)

you can't dyno a ground kit, it's not going to change anything and dyno plots fluctuate in any form.

If you Dyno your car then add a part and it has a positive or negative affect you'd be able to see if you makes power right? Lost HP for a gain in TQ

i thought the tuner did that... i had a ground kit on my car. it caused my car to throw all kinds of crazy ass CELs that where for a 07 when i loaded on my AP base map. took it off, and BAM, all cels went away. turned out to be cuz it was loose at the battery, but it really didn't do anything for me besides look kind of cool

I've seen SRT-4's dyno plots improve from grounding kits. But, dyno plots always fluctuate all over the place so...
With all of the electronics in our cars. A good ground cannot hurt at all though. You won't see a quality computer or other electronic devices without a good ground. You also won't see quality high-voltage electrical circuits without a ground...so why not?

I figure it cant hurt improving on your cars little 12Ga. ground wires. If you compare it to a car stereo would you use the same 12Ga. ground wire for your amp? It draws more amps but the bigger the better.

I did it when I had nothing else to do on a weekend. I saw the HKS Circle the Earth system and thought it was ridiculous for a grounding system to cost that much. I went to Best Buy and picked up everything I needed for about $30 and made it up myself. If anyone is interested in this, Go to a Stereo shop or someplace like Best Buy or Circuit City and pick out a length of wire. You pick the wire and guage size you like. Monster Cable looks good and 30' of cable is plenty. I ran a length down to ground my transmission so that will take up a little more wire. Then pick yourself up some connectors and some shrink wrap. Solder your connections and shrinkwrap them so they don't look ametuer. Easy job and kind of fun if you have the spare time and $30 to spend. The cost of this mod is up to you and depends on what you want it to look like. Just don't buy a commercial brand

I have purchased a roll of 4/0 AWG welding cable wire for a grounding system. Its super flexible, plain black, and is super conductive.

It is definately pretty huge. It'll be good for the marger items like the block, tranny, etc.
Plus, with my discount at the parts-house, it was practically free. And the connectors were free.
