***AN UPDATE ON THE INSTALL***

I have had the alpine installed since this thread was started, and everything is ok nothing is messing up and no rubbing BUT!.....i have a switch rigged up instead of the PAC TR-7 and i am going to invest in a TR-7 soon becuase the switch sux! Anyways i reccomend getting the TR-7 so you can install it all together. (If you dont know how to wire it then take it to the closest circuit city, best buy, tweeter, ect. and ask to talk to the tech personally, most likely he will do it on the side!) It takes maby 5-10 min. and you just clip it in!

The plug in that picture is indeed part of the stock subwoofer harness.

There are two similar colored wires for the factory boost gauge. They go to a two-pin plug, and are for illumination. On cars without the gauge they're usually taped back onto the radio harness (lower-left corner of this picture):
More pics and info on the subwoofer plug in this post.

If you sell the stock sub, you can get more $ if you include the complete T-harness. It's not hard to remove (see the above link for Subaru's installation instructions).

FYI: I found that when the subwoofer was plugged into the speakers I heard voices and I didn't feel like tuning it out. Instead I soldered the old connectors to some RCA plugs and used the subwoofer outputs on my Nav. Here is a cheesy drawing I did last year.

*Update* Still rolling arond without the Pac-Tr7 and Still Hating that my lazy fat ass hasn't put it in yet but it has been in for about a year and NO PROBLEMS at all but...there is a little rattling behind my radio. Not annoyin cuz i cant hear it unless everything is the car is off. Display is still vibrant and good and I have loaded a couple backgrounds up to keep it fresh. Looks good.
