Exclamation HSPN TV: How-To / Install - CL Development X-Brace

Today, HSPN TV, a division of HSPN Networks, released a how-to installation video of the CL Development X-Brace.

To watch the video on HSPN TV, click here:
http://www.hspn.tv/?videoid=68&catid=1

The Car Lab claims that the X-Brace increases handling by 0.1G. Yes, you read that correctly, and they say this improvement was confirmed by a team within Subaru when The Car Lab submitted this product to Subaru for testing on the Nurburgring. The X Brace appears to do more than a regular rear strut bar. It essentially strengthens the rear of the cabin in the same way a firewall strengthens the front of the cabin.

Here is a graph to demonstrate the increased stiffness that results from installing the X Brace on an STI. This was made by the manufacturer not HSPN. We intend on verifying some of their claims.

To participate in a discussion on the X-brace please see this thread:

nice install video, will you be doing any testing to see if the claims made by the manufacturer is true?

Yes we will be testing the unit as part of a future project we are working on now. Watch www.HSPN.tv for the upcoming release. From the little we can determine from a butt dyno, it positively affects handling. There is also a noticeable improvement in the steering wheel returning to center after a turn. A number of guys are thinking about and trying to not only articulate what is happening but also figure out a why to document this for enthusiasts on camera.

Do you know what the price is on this? The Cusco RSB + Vbrace keeps the side to side bar and adds a V attatchment bolting to floor. Price on the Xbar will be the leading factor.
