i'm sure it is, lift your trunk carpet up and see if there's an access door on the right hand side, if so have fun crawling in there

I am thinking of buying one and am not sure if I just need the pump or the entire walbro kit that goes for like $100?? Also, wouldn't they include a hose to attach the pump somehow instead of using that short rubber hose with two clamps?? Looks a bit too ghetto and I would hate those clamps to corode in some matter and cause crap.

Anyhow, I will be replacing the fuel filter since I am doing the 60k service and I might as well switch the pump. Any recommendations where I can find good deals on the walbro pump? Input is appreciated.

i just did one in an 07 and will offer a couple of tips. first, its in the trunk like an 06, but you still need to pull the rear seat so you have enough room to wiggle it out. second, if you pull the assembly up a couple inches and remove the 2 screws that hold the float assembly on, it lets it collapse and gives you more room and your less likely to damage the float arm. it is a VERY tight fit! third, the stock hose works fine if you bend the bottom tabs down, slide the pump in and rebend them back up. i also used a couple zip ties around the pump/housing for added security. and you definately do not need the kit, just the pump. the stock filter, hose and wire all work fine.

Does anyone know where to get a sock that would fit the Walbro... for noise reduction?

it's not that loud, i dont know how you could hear it with a TBE, assuming you have a TBE because if you dont then you probably dont need a pump, the only way i can hear mine is if i pop the trunk and put my head down twards the floor

when i installed the walbro, I reused the stock sock / filter thing on the end of the fuel pump.
There are some instance of some people that had their walbro sock/filter thing collapsing.
The stock one is much better because it had more plastic rib reenforcement inside.

In an 05 and others... the pump is under the rear seat... i.e. in the cabin... thus making sound louder.

I recall a post... that I can't find now... of someone putting a "sock" or sleeve over the pump itself. Anyone heard of this or similar. I'm also contemplating placing a bit of sound dampening material under the rear seat.

Just did this mod. Everything went well, but it was a tight fit. I ended up taking out my back seats for more working room. I encountered the same problem as the OP. Just cut the hose a little shorter and problem solved. The only issue i had was a CEL came up upon initial start-up.

OBD code- P0183= High temperature sensor "A". Circuit high input.

Did anyone else have this cel? It doesn't seem to be anything too serious. The car runs fine and once i cleared the code, it has yet to come back.

I hope you used a zip tie that is not going to fall apart because of the fuel. You have to make sure you get the right stuff because the fuel can do some nasty stuff to parts. Use a cheapo zip tie and will eat it up and you will have some crap in your tank.

However, great tips man. You make me feel a lot more comfortable about doing this.
