Question for you guys. I have an '04 STi and the trunk was swapped with an '05 STi trunk. Not sure if the third brake light (led one on the wing) wiring is different on '05 but I don't see anywhere to plug it into in my trunk.

It's very short...only comes about half way down the trunk arm so the wire in my trunk (if there was one) should be fairly long but there's nothing I can find that will reach, let alone plug into it...any ideas?

This is an '04 STi so it would have originally had the third brake light as well...i'm confused...

just kind of answered my own question. it took me about 30 minutes to get the back seats, the torsion bars, and the trunk off by myself (wanted to get ahead for tomorrow). Only other question is, for taking the 3rd brake light off, i took the plastic clips off the rear deck that the light sits on, now how do i get that deck off?

To get the rear deck off you need to remove the trim on either side of the rear seat back. You need to start at the door floor trim (it pulls right up, maybe one screw at top, or on next piece cannot remember- you will see it down a recessed hole, use a light) and work your way up.several pop rivets, pop cover off seat belt and unbolt, couple philips screws and your done. I assume from above, your seat back is out already - it needs to be out.

I swapped with ryan (achaHockey) a few days ago...with 2 people, this was an unbelieviably easy job! Even the torsion bars were no big deal. Highly recommend having a second set of hands.

p.s. We swapped locks, but i don't see any reason to take off the whole clip (gold) unit which holds the trunk down. Just swivel the orange piece, pull out the black tab, and slide one out and put the other in. Super easy.

ADDITIONALLY: We took off the trunk lids before we did torsion bars, making the torsion bars no big deal. I would definately recommend doing it this way...

Can a 04 WRX trunk replace a 06 STi trunk? Will it align right? and can an 06 STi trunk be placed on a 04 WRX?

yes it should be, all trunks lids are interchangeable from 03 to 07 models. Do the torsion arms as recommended...
