do we really need to get the silver rings if we dont care about the red light up parts? is it the same as the stock ones other then the red inserts?
sorry just saw this.

the color of the stock ring and the S204 ring is different. The S204 ring is lighter. You could reuse the stock one if you wanted but if you get the whole kit I would replace the ring with the S204 one. You're going to have to pop them out anyway when you replace the inner part w/ the black S204 version.

Like IUSTI said you can do it but you'll need a complete 05+ center dash all the way up to the arm rest. It's a lot of work to switch but a few people have done it. Check the interior subforum I think a few people have posted pics of their swaps.

well the only reason im thinking of ordering this is because i just got my car back from the body shop and they had to replace the spray painted black piece and ash tray around the shifter and the one they got from subaru black. So the spray painted parts look weird and i dont think the colors match. So im just looking for a cheap replacement of all the spray painted parts. Thats why i ask about the silver knobs because id rather not spend the extra 30$ for those if the stock ones look fine with the s204 kit.
