You can get a replacement filter at NAPA for $17 and change if you have one near you

i did this as well, thanks.

just to reinstate, filters are available through Ebay. They are the EXACT filter from Subaru. Ebay seller is AircabinMan, link

I have also purchased filter from Subaru dealership and compared the two filters side by side, there was not a difference but $15 cheaper from ebay. Cheers.

Great thread, I changed my 3 year old one and it was pretty much completely blocked and black. Got the ebay one.

I just got a filter from Advanced Auto Parts and it cost $12... it fits almost perfectly. It is a Purolator "Breathe Easy" # C38188 electrostatic charged cabin air filter.

I did the Home Depot special last time, but I was very unhappy with the filtering capability (had lots of dust making it past the filter and into my AC system) so I went with a real cabin air filter this time.
