IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 | Hi Guys, I just installed an aftermarket head unit and am trying to decide between using this Forrester din pocket or the din shelf that Porsche uses in the 911s and Boxsters ( http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=shelf986). Can anyone comment on the color match of this Forrester pocket to the '07 STi center console? From the pics it is hard to tell if it is a perfect match or a little bit lighter. I've seen a couple people say it matches perfectly and a couple saying that it is "close" or "90%". However, I don't know if the different years of STi's had a different silver on the console. The older design with the manual HVAC knobs appears to be darker. Does anyone know if this is an exact match for the '07 STi (normal, not limited)? Thanks, --Josh Last edited by JWA; 03-14-2007 at 11:05 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 | The Forester DIN pocket is not 100% colormatched with the 06/07 interior but you have to pay a lot of attention to figure it out. I would say that 95% of the people getting into your car won't notice any color difference between the pocket and the interior. |

| Amateur STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I know this is a little late, but i was reading this thread, and am currently in the process of rebuilding my dash w/ new headunit...forester din pocket..and the mounting brackets. to the person, or persons later needing this information: ALL parts can be had from a subaru parts dealer. the stereo mounting brackets are the following part numbers (obviously one for each side) and cost about 4-5 dollars each: 66201FE000 - right bracket 66201FE010 - left bracket the forester din pocket, which needs to be from a 2003 and higher, for Impreza/WRX/STi's 2004-up, costs between 18-25 dollars: 66128SA040 - forester din pocket w/ silver cover There are also 2 types of screws for this setup, the screws that screw the bracket and into the stereo itself (which you will need approx 8 of). You will also need the screws that screw the bracket into the dash (which you will need approx 6 of). i do not have those parts numbers at this time, but each screw costs approx .20-.25 cents. As a newbie myself, i know how important some of this info can be..and how hard it is to find this out on your own. I hope this helps, and i will try to post pics when i get the stuff in, while i build my stereo back up. ~ENJOY Last edited by livematrix182; 05-29-2007 at 11:20 AM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 | Thanks for the write up it pointed me in the right direction however you have to get those holes just right in order to have that door open and close smoothly... Took some tweaking but it looks great. |
