I suggest a re-wire using the hella relay, and 14 AWG wire like the DIY says. check your grounds too. not to make you sound dumb, but fuses blow so that dangerous amp levels wont screw up the equipment.

P.S. Whats the fuse size for the horns anyway?
it dont matter if you use the relay or not. relay is just to make it slightly louder. so there is no way you can blow the oem fuse unless you wire it wrong. try making sure you have a good ground i had the same problem at one point. stock wire is 14 gauge i think.

i'm going recheck my grounds again.
i had the same problem as you easiest way to check. when you arm your alarm does the light blink and no horn ring right. if that is the cause your ground is bad. there is no way you can blow anything i am unsing a line 20amp also . read my DIY again and you should get it to work

I have an 06, and is there any one close to NJ, East Orange, Bloomfield, Newark area who can help me with the install?

Also does it really matter if you use the existing horn wiring?
Will it give the same voltage?
What if i wanted to have all horns working at the same time, is this unnessary? is it Counter-productive as far as voltage, freqency, etc?

hey ceas thanks for the great write up, i did a couple things different though, i just made all my wires and kind of eyeballed the lengths and connected everything to the relay and put all the grease on and covered everything with wire loom and heat shrinked and electrical taped everything, then when i go to install i will just have to unhook stock horn wire and mount the horns and screw in the pos and ground wires and done... great write up BTW

EDIT: i know the directions say and you say to use the same ground location as the horns mounting bracket, but i just fabbed up another wire the same as the positive wires and ran it back to the stock grounding location, havent check if it works yet considering i havent installed them, but if it does i think it might look cleaner maybe, who knows maybe im just a lil too anal..

Bit of a random question this maybe..

Do US spec Imprezas have a power-steering cooler in front of the Rad like UK/Euro/Jap spec Imprezas do? If so, what have you done with it?

I've seen these horns of a couple of US "show-car" imprezas and think they look great, even though they're only made in Germany they're rarer than rocking-horse ..... over here; I'd love a set, but dont see a way around the power steering cooler
