slyguySTI, I did mine without drilling and just used existing holes already there, worked out quite nicely, check mine out. Very even.

Actually your driver side horn can twist upwards and move your passenger side down a little and it should even out. Also if you take your grill out, you can unscrew the center black piece of plastic and take it out for better view of the horns and a cleaner look IMO. Very easy to go back if you don't like. If you look at both of ours you can tell a difference.

Went great and wow they are loud!, well just Saturday, while i was driving i tried to horn at someone who was running across the highway.... and it didnt work... checked it out. I blew the OEM horn fuse.. so i got another one and blew that i checked all the connection over again and can't to seem to find the problem? any ideas?

from what i read, your not using the hella relay?? if so your probably pulling too much current. if all your connections are good, im gonna say that your pulling too much current thru the stock wiring. i think the stock wiring is 18 AWG or possibly 16 AWG. I suggest a re-wire using the hella relay, and 14 AWG wire like the DIY says. check your grounds too. not to make you sound dumb, but fuses blow so that dangerous amp levels wont screw up the equipment.

P.S. Whats the fuse size for the horns anyway?

no i'm using the hella relay, and my set-up is exactly like the write-up. And inline fuse i wired up didnt blow only, the OEM fuse the (small 15amp). The inline fuse i have a big 20amp. And i know the purpose of fuses, that the thing that gets me they worked fine for about 2 weeks and now i dont know whats wrong.

i'm going recheck my grounds again.

what else is on the horn fuse?? i cant remember...

also, if you have a multimeter, check your connections to see if you have a short somewhere.

check to see if your relay is working properly, too. from what your saying, your power from the battery to your relay is good. im thinkin you might have a bad relay, or something is shorting your power directly from your battery to the switch in your steerign wheel.

check to see if have continuity between terminal 30 and 86, then while your monitoring on your multimeter, check the voltage and amperes and have someone activate the switch (aka hit the horn).

sorry i cant help more, i do this for a living...its just hard to troubleshoot when not in person.

check the grounds again, but that shouldnt be the problem...if your grounds werent good, the horns wouldnt work at all.

the oem horn fuse is just for the horn.
i had a same relay laying around and swap them and it did the same thing. And it might be the ground... the 2 weeks they worked it didnt rain and that saturday we had tons of rain... maybe messed the grounding points. When it stops rainning i'll resand grounding points.

I also mounted mine very similarly. No need to go assymetrical.

first off im pretty sure theres 2 power wires for the horns. the 2nd one i had to cap off and wrap in electrical tape. 2ndly, there most certainly is a way to mount them side by side that doesnt require drilling. 3rd you dont need to sand the place where you mount it. You can simply ground it to the metal bracket that holds the horn. THe bolt will go through to the metal and therefore have a good ground. Pics are in my journal
