These look great, but blocking a "Hella" lot of air flow really isn't worth a loud horn.. I think mounting them in an alterative area would be the way to go.

best mod I've ever done. I ordered from Griot's and their wiring diagram and connections made it plug and play EXCEPT...

the wires were too short to connect to both horns (I kept them in the stock locations. Being off-centered sort of looks balanced to me from the front). So I had to buy an inexpensive bracket to get the center horn closer to the battery.

Worked great. Sounds great (maybe someday I'll post some of my FANTASTIC hella horn stories). Found that I actually use my horns LESS, b/c they're so right, I only use them for the morons they're intended for.

Griot's: True dat. Hella: Double true.

Finally had the time to get down into my horn problem last night and found it fairly quickly (10 minutes or so..). I ended up having a bad crimp connector at pin **. Replaced it, soldered everything and on came the train! Holy shiet...the little kids (about 3 or 4 yrs. old) down the street started crying when I tested it and scared the crap out of them...lol...they were okay when I let them come over and try it themselves..then they laughed uncontrollably. My neighborhood is fun.
These horns are gonna' be outstanding in commute traffic for those that didn't get the "turn signal option" on their stupid SUV's.
Thx. for the attempted help Lightwerkz.

How do I tap into the wire so it can go to both horns. Do I ground both horns?

is there any reason you used 14 gauge wire???? I have 16 stranded in my posession, any reason why that wouldn't suffice??

Cool Re: **DIY Hella Super Tones Install **

Okay i answered my own question in the previous post. With the help of Werkz' great write-up i installed mine today, there are a few things that are different on the 06 so here are some pics to show how i installed on my 06. There is only one wire going into the horn, thats your postive lead. I mounted mine right behind the center grill..

I used an environmental splice and heat shrink to add onto the stock horn wire...

Next i ran the +12V wire from the batter out the back of the cover down and thru...

I grounded both my horns behind the lower one...Make sure if you dont use the grounding point for the battery, you sand the place you use down to bare metal or you wont get a good connection to ground...

Here are a few pictures of how i ran my wire, lacing, and how i mounted my relay...

and now the final product!

These suckers are LOUD, too.

P.S. I would be willing to help, or install these for anyone in the pittsburgh, pa area.
