You need to calculate the resistor, no better way to explain it. Follow the link in here to the resistor calculator to figure out the correct size based on voltage, draw and number of LEDs.

560 ohm may or may not be ok, you'll absolutely have to do the math to know, sorry man, no other way to put it. Look at the picture and you should see how the resistor goes, it's pretty self explanatory unless you haven't dealt with electronics ever, logically there is really only one way to wire this thing. IF you haven't got any electronics experience, your HVAC controls may not be the best place to start, no offence, but I'd hate to see someone screw up their controls trying to follow my directions. You can short something, fry one of the chips or just simply burn out the board if you aren't careful about what you're doing. If you're unsure, please, find someone in your local area who can help you or send them to me.

I don't want you to be afraid to try, just make sure you're careful about what you're doing. (Take it from someone who has learned a few times by breaking things, it's not the cheapest way to do things.)

^you need to elaborate what you are saying? the digi display for the head unit?

i'm wondering how to make the 05 head unit red...is it the same we the 04's? or is it a bunch of stupid LED's?

not sure, it could be the same as the 04's...just bulbs and take the condoms off and paint it whatever color.
if people would reply to the thread, mb we can get an answer but no one ever does.

I think it changes the display, if you go to page 5 on this link and click on that guy who changed everything to blue. His display is blue

no pics man.
i'm really guessing the 05 radio is the same as the 04, just looks different
(meaning it's just bulbs behind everything and you can paint them whatever color you want) since it's not mentioned anywhere about doing LED's in it and the pics show it red during the write up....but only states how to change the HVAC

Okay, this thread is for the 05 HVAC not the 05 Stereo. The 05 Stereo is done in the exact same manner as the 04 stereo with bulb covers. HOWEVER, the screen, digitial display whatever you want to call it where the numbers are displayed to show what station you're on, stays green. I tried everything and in order to change the screen to red, you'd need a new piece of plastic as the platic cover over the numbers is tinted. The display is white behind the plastic so if anyone can fix this, please let me know.

I couldn't get the plastic cover off, I was afraid of breaking the stereo trim.

I'm actually working on replacing the green peice of plastic that covers the stock head unit display. The green peice has 2 small tabs at the top and a bunch of glue that holds it in place - using a nylon chisel I was able to pry it off (basically slide around underneith all the edges to break glue seal). My original plan was to use clear plexi glass stained with a red clear coat to get the desired affect - this turned out to be much more difficult than I thought it would be (best efforts so far resulted in a very bright pink display). I ordered some very dark red transparent plexiglass that should get here some time next week and I will post some pics once I have it cut and installed. (I may be able to make some extras since I had to order a minimum of 50$ worth of plexiglass)
