Thanks, saintd...I guess. I loved my STi...I just wanted to give the Evo a try, too.

BTW, I just posted more MR pics in the Rejex thread.

I add my admiration to the clean and functional install. I do wonder about the hose routing though. It looks like the return hose from the OCC goes to the valve cover breathers while the intake to the OCC goes to the lower nipple. Shouldn't this be reversed? I can't see the PCV hose routing at the OCC.

Intuitively it seems like the return should not be below the condensed out oil.

Mike,

It is hooked up correct. PCV and Breathers go to the TOP of the can. The sides of the can go to the 2 ports on the turbo inlet duct. AMW (Accurate Machine Works) states that the inlet is on the TOP of the can and the exit is on the side. This is such that the vapors immediately hit the special steel wool that is in the center of the can. If you look at the top of the can ... it is actually a top that extends down into the can PAST the exit. It is well protected. Here are the installation instructions...

Wow, what a beautiful job. This is the way I'm going, no question about it!

One question/suggestion: if you still have that cardboard template would you consider selling it to me? 1/2 (half kidding)

Alternatively you could post a size-correct image of it so that folks could use it as a template. That's basically what I'm going to try to do myself; download the template shot, play with the size until it looks right, print, cut.

Thanks again for the *thorough* job. Your legwork, great descriptions, and even greater pictures are certainly going to make my job a lot easier. Though I may go with a wee bit of bling and get the red cans...

Cheers,
-wdb

This is by far the most helpful and informative catch can post I have seen, others just made me confused to the point that I gave up on even bothering with one, but after reading this I am definitely going to use two catch cans instead of one. Thanks!

Thanks guys! I still do have the cardboard template. If I get some time I'll try to get more accurate measurements. I should have just taken measurements of the finished aluminum mount ... oooooooops.

Nice and clean Wolfplayer. Best catch can install I've seen.

great job, im also running dual catch can setup but its nowhere near as nice as yours. I think if there is enough space left over after 20G with ewg install I will redo my setup to match yours. Template or measurements for the mounting bracket would be greatly appriciated.

I read through most of the thread, but may have missed the explanation for the reasoning behind two catch cans vs. one.

However, simply pop off the stock silver hose clamp from the PCV line at the sensor on the turbo inlet hose. I thought this would be a difficult thing. However, this clamp is 100% reusable even though it doesn't look that way. Pull the hose off the sensor and then slap in a 1/2" to 3/8" hose adapter. The hose then routes directly over to the catch can. From the turbo inlet mount up a new section of 1/2" hose. We can then adapt this to 3/8" and then back to the catch can. Beautiful. Everything is 100% reversible and NOTHING was damaged in the process. w00t.

Pssst. I also installed my hella horns last night. These things are monstrously loud (I installed the relay too so that they get direct battery power).

Yeah.....Tim.....about those horns...They are definitely monstrously loud!
