For anyone interested.... here's my question over at ClubWRX:

Revolutionary new catch-can idea!! Er, question... - ClubWRX Forum - Subaru Impreza WRX and STi Community and Forums

I thought of putting my one catch can over there on the right vs the left split that everyone seems to use... What does everyone think? Obviously over there I am being thought of as a retard...

You obviously didn't read this thread. Nobody puts dual catch cans on the lines marked in your picture. That would just be stupid. There is only one catch can off of that feed. The other catch can is coming off of the PCV valve (which you do not have marked up in your picture).

since this thread is still alive after all these years, i just wanted post an update as to how well running dual catch cans have worked for me. this was the first mod to my 05' sti. reason it's off, i'm doing group-n motor mounts. anyway, it's been around 3 years since i've had the intercooler off (motor and tune are bone stock, not even an intake) and it looks brand new inside. i do get a couple table spoons of oil in the CC's every couple months, but nothing in the IC. it was a daily driver for the first 2 years, but now i'm at 48,000 mi with the car seeing mostly auto-x duty and to and from driving now.

this is basicly what i use, just not that nice. think i paid $10 for both filters at a discount place. well worth it, and thanks to those that first figured this out

I put 1 of my catch cans off that, so it takes care of both those ends that go into the turbo inlet hose eventually. That piping gets filthy dirty, as does the turbo inlet hose. I recently tried to clean out the piping...had to get a long concrete drill bit to get in there and break up the chunks of nastiness. This was after soaking it in every possible solvent/solution. I'm not even joking. I figured I had better get a catch can on that ASAP.

I still need to do the PCV though... I took off my IC tonight and saw how much blowby I'm still getting not sure if I should do the PCV valve off the same location into the inlet hose as the OP did, or put it off the crankcase before the T split there up into the manifold and turbo inlet hose...

Ok, old thread bump here.

I went to empty my saiko michii cans today and after about 4 or 5k miles nothing came out of them.

Any thoughts.

Pertinent info (5w30 motul or m1), stg 2 ish (19psi), daily driving and a handful of autox's.

So you are going to run three catch cans? one for each rocker cover and one for the pcv?

If you don't mind me chiming in, it shouldn't be a problem with those cans...well-designed.

You set this up 02/09, yes? 1st time draining?

Assuming you have them hooked up correctly, although its a little hard for me to tell around the PCV area, you're either not getting very much blowby at all or you're getting it mostly off boost and since you still have the PCV in place its all getting sucked into the intake manifold. Of course if its the latter you wouldn't be able to tell without pulling the manifold.

Yeah, its the first time trying to empty them. I hardly ever drive the car so it's about 1 and a 1/2 oil changes.

I checked and double checked how they are connected. I'm running a 2 can setup and I was sure to read the directions on which nipple on the cans are in and which are out. The car doesn't run bad or have any problems. I got a good UOA on the "1/2 oil change" mentioned above. I did add about 1/4 quart of oil towards then end of this oil change interval.

Maybe it's all absorbed in the substrate in the cans and I don't have that much blowby?

I guess I'll have it double checked next time I'm around a competent subaru mechanic (Andrewtech guys at an autox probably).

^^^If you only added 1/4 qt then you don't have much blowby, which is good. Those cans don't have absorptive substrate but its possible some could be held in place by the condensation baffle at the top of the can. Talk to your guys but I suspect your still getting some past the PCV into the intake. You might consider deleting the PCV.
