IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 | I used some 1/2" PVC 90* elbows to do the sharp bends. Granted, they don't look as good as a molded hose though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 | Hey guys, i got two $10 each billet aluminum cans on ebay, bought some aluminum at lowes and have been been fabbing-up my own two can system. I picked up one of 'freddies plumbing kits' used, and will be using that two rig them up. Props to the wolfplayer for the DIY. Heres my pics so far: Able to do it so far easily with a vise, sledge hammer, hacksaw, drill press. |

And, are you concerned about the two screws through the side of the cans? I'm thinking possible oil 'mist' leaks under pressure? ![]() Looks good though.

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 | The Million dollar question is -- I have 1 catch can for the time being -- which should I go with, the "Red" or the "Blue" -- I think the Red is better over all? If you catch it inside the engine (crank case), then inlet shouldn't be so gunky? Quote:

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2009 | Oy, has anyone noticed any "increase" in performance by chance? For example, not having the "lowered octane" rating and generally having a cleaner engine... any smoother power/idle/mpg? lol |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2009 | bump for an answer to whether or not anyone has seen any increase in performance possibly? with the octane rating of the fuel not being lowered I would suspect better engine performance....? |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | probably not and if their is an increase it would be so small you wouldn't be able to notice it. Catch cans are more of a preventive mod |

So if anyone can sit here and tell me that that crap cannot hinder performance by getting in your turbo compressor wheel (I don't care how fast it spins, just try cleaning this crap off your hands, the floor, anywhere you get it), intercooler, and possibly back into your engine where it came from and messing with your AF ratio, effectively lowering your octane rating, you're insane. I can't wait to put my catch can in. The sand-like oil sludge junk was enough to make me puke and have nightmares. I can only imagine the inside of the turbo inlet hose. I can't wait to get one of those next.
