I used a 3M "Scotch-Brite" scouring pad. These are sold in hardware stores and usually used for cleaning pots and pans. The 3M product number is 214. It's like a bunch of curled up stainless steel coils. I put two of these inside my catch cans. I added a tube inside the inlet fitting to go down to the bottom of the can. Then the oil vapor has to go through the Scotch-Brite before it comes back up and exits the can, hopefully trapping oil along the way.

You can buy these scouring pads at most hardware stores, maybe super markets also.

Just a comment: The Gates 28460 is a heater hose. My understanding is that while heater hose may work for a while, it is not designed to stand up to oil. I used 1/2" fuel hose in my installation. I also used some 90 degree e;bows to make sharp turns. Here's my install, following your thread here (great thread btw):

should i check valve be used along with the catch cans? on the install pdf for the amw cans it says one should be used?

im looking into a amw dual can set up but my only concern it the 1/2 hose to 3/8 reduction causing issues. but couldn't i just get new 1/2 fittings to screw into the cans?

Very good point. If anyone finds a fuel hose with a preformed 90 degree bend in it, please post the part number here.

FWIW, after all of the years, the small 90 degree bend is doing great.

I think another option that I am liking is the Ixiz A/O separator.

Very true, on the price goin up. Ive got one AMW can, and need another. Only thing i dont like about the Ixiz is not keeping the systems separate. What do you think T
