I'm assuming the vacuum hose kit that's included with this setup is meant retain the pcv valve like the setup wolfplayer did in this how-to (obviously it wouldn't be mandatory). Are you planning on keeping the pcv valve?

? regarding the near 3/4" id hose on the stock vent system - I realize 1 is on the valve cover breather return line going to the turbo inlet nipple. Is the second 3/4" hose just on the crankcase vent fitting on top of the block (hose that goes from block nipple to pcv valve) or does the hose stay 3/4" ID from the pcv valve to the turbo inlet nipple? - It looks like the ID necks down to around 1/2" ID on the pcv valve-to-turbo inlet hose to me, but I never had it off to measure.

I wonder what people are doing with the pcv line (line that goes from the pcv valve to the intake manifold) that are running these dual cc setups. As wolfplayer said, these cc setups will only keep oil out of the intake, turbo, ic charge pipes, ic and throttlebody; they won't keep oil out of the intake manifold. Perhaps a triple cc setup would be ideal?

The kit was minimal and didn't come with anything other than the bracket and the cans. I used some 1/2" heater hose, hose clamps, and two 1/2" hose couplers. I'll post up pictures of the install later so it's clearer as to what I did.

BTW I'm sure you could order the cans if you emailed Mr. Saikou.

Ok, picture time:

PCV nipple is the nipple all the way to the right. The short hose is the oem hose. It's 3/4" at the pcv nipple and 1/2" at the other end.

Breather-into-inlet nipple is 3/4" and uses the oem hose.

Some notes: The washers are huge, I know, I used them because they were in my garage at the time. I'm not entirely pleased with the hose that goes over that cap thing (coolant reservoir??). It doesn't interfere with the hood at all though and doesn't get pinched. Inlets are the top nipples on the cans outlets are the bottom. The car is dirty from salt on the roads and needs a full detail.

I've encouraged the maker to speak with Kevin about doing a group buy.

Thanks for the pics. It's hard to tell but, it looks like you aren't using the pcv valve. If this is the case what did you use to cap the pcv port on the intake manifold?

I was also suprised to see that the port coming off the top of the can is the inlet and the lower port on the side of the can is the outlet; I figured it would be the opposit (not that it matters).

In the second to last picture the short stubby hose comes from the PCV valve (I'm pretty sure) and in the oem configuration goes to the nipple just to the left there, which I believe goes to the intake manifold (sitting right below the coupler). So, the PCV valve to the inlet circuit is not broken or ended, it just has a catch can in it.

The inlet and outlet port's were as labeled in the instructions.

Hi Guys,

These catch cans look pretty nice for the money. I read through their website and it says that he uses the mesh for condensation and I think that is a great idea (so long as it is stainless steel).

What I don't like about these cans is the simple fact that you cannot open them up to inspect what is going on. I have the need to see the internal workings of something and to examine it from time to time. Even with my AMW cans, I don't drain them without first cracking open the top and taking a look at things.

Again - these seem great for the money. I just don't like the fact that you can't open them up and inspect.

I've talked to the guy who makes these and he said something to the affect that he would take my suggestions into consideration on the next batch.

My number one suggestion was making them something you could open up and peek inside.

^^^

I have the same ones in my garage waiting to install. I bought the two piece set though, so my cans aren't welded together.
