IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 | Would this Valve be the same one that was put in the 2003 and up WRXs? The 2002s did not have these correct? Would it be possible to just use 2002 parts? |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2003 | you'd need a technician familiar with those year wrxs and '04 and later stis. best of luck with that. you might want to try nasioc. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | I had an 02 wrx. All the valve did on the later years was help eliminate clutch shudder problem the 02's had(soa tried 3 sep flywheel weights 1st in 02). The trannies still broke in 03 and up year wrx's. So, the amount of delay is minimum to say the least. More of an "initial" delay. It's alot easier to just do the mod than replace with the inferior early wrx parts. The valve causes clutch slippage when speed/flat shifting. The 02 didn't do that but shuddered like mad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 | I just did this mod because my exedy twin plate clutch didn't like the delay at all, also exedy recommends doing this as well. The clutch feel is SO much better. It feels like a normal clutch and is so much easier to drive in everyday traffic. I have yet to launch the car but I will let you know. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 | If those of you out there want to spin your tires you need to know how to launch it in the first place. "Popping" the clutch is not the answer and will cause bogging most times. As most of you who have driven manuals know there is a clutch engagement point. When wanting to do this tire spinning bring the clutch to its point where it starts to engage and rev the **** out of it all you want them take your foot off the clutch and you will go like hell. The delay valve has little to no effect then. This is also how you should launch to begin with. SO to phrase it again let the clutch pedal out until the cars starts to want to move then push the clutch back in a little futher and keep it there. THEN rev it up to whatever and launch. You will spin then not to mention this method of launching is the proper way to do it. I still might do it because the delay screws you up when shifting and just driving along. Half the time I can't shift my STi silky smooth like I want it and I can in every other car known to man including my 02 WRX which the clutch felt a ton better. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | i really want to do this mod to my 06 wrx but my slave cylinder looks completely different from past years. Since i had some spare parts laying around i decided to take them apart to see what i was working with... the only thing i dont understand is why do i need to plug that little hole in the metal screw cap the screws on to the bottom of the master cylinder? does that little hole really do something? other than that, why cant i just take out the little spring and blue cap and call it a day? |
