How to turn head lights off when parking break is down

Cant seem to find this thread anywhere, I noticed that my 07 ALWAYS has the headlights on unless the parking break is up, before I go digging in and looking for the parking break switch has anyone already written a DIY for this? or am i retarded

and there is a normal way of turning them off?

thats the DRL. Theres a lot of DYIs on how to disable the DRL

Why out of curiosity? It makes you more visible to other drivers and less chance you will get hit by some idiot not paying attention.

You cut the green/yellow wire in the harness under the steering column. There are plenty of pictures in the thread

Your user info on the left doesn't say what year you have. These instruction are for 07 (and I think 06). I think the 04-05 the wires you need are behind the glovebox instead (can't remember specifically but its mentioned a coulple of times in the link above)

Also I know its hard to go cutting wires on your perfectly good car and I also wrestled with this but seriously it only takes a couple of minutes. The only problem is; if you're a big guy like me; contorting your body to be able to look up under the dash

So when did they start the DRL's in the STI's? I know mine doesn't have them but maybe they're just disabled. Not that I want them or anything I'm just curious.

Definetely know the 04/05 didnt come with it. I think they started in 06 but don't quote me on that.

Don't go cutting any wires. You can disable the DRL's by unplugging some wires behind the glovebox. I did it, but then reconnected them. I was hoping to be able to use the city lights (the first click up on the wand) but it would dim everything in the dash which was a pain in the rear.
It's really important to have some sort of lights on up front during the day. It really makes a difference preventing people from pulling out in front of you.

Here is the thread that explains how to disable the DRL's without clipping any wires

It seems like the pictures were removed but maybe you can contact the OP and have them send you the photos or repost them)

Ok so I did this last night while i was letting the car cool before my super messy oil change. Anyway it works fine, HOWEVER when i was down there I noticed TWO green Connectors, each with one wire in there, and it was unplugged. I decided to plug them back together and see what they were. As soon as I plugged it back in and turned the power on (not the engine) my engine fan started turning on and off.... any ideas of what this is and whether it should be plugged in?
