Thumbs up Short block assembly

you will need,
a pair of very long needle nose pilers
6/12 point metric socket
14mm allen socket (piston wrist pin access)
torque wrench
ring cutter /dremel
feeler guauge
vernier calipers
bore diameter caliper
ring compressor
dead blow hammer ( plastic/ hard rubber)

so lets start measuring things.
place main bearings in case halves.
torque to specs.
measure the distance between bearing surfaces, make sure not to scratch.
then measure the crank journal.
compare to two.
this main bearing clearance.

second connecting rods
place connecting rod bearings into connecting rods.
torque to specs.
measure the distance between bearing surfaces, make sure not to scratch.
then measure the rod journal on crank.
compare to two.
this connecting rod bearing clearance.

inspect case halves & clean mating surfaces.
place all o-rings in their receses
fuji-bond case halves

assuming crank & connecting rods are good.
assemble crank assembly use plenty of assembly lube
place crank bearings in case halves
carefully place crank assembly into 1 of the case halves
assemble case halves.
again torque to specs.

third pistons & rings
measure cylinder bore in three places from top
of bore down into cylinder.
now measure piston in approximately the spacing.
depending on how much boost the piston to cylinder wall
clearance will accomodate.

again follow manufacturer recommendations

match piston to cylinder while maintaining piston to cylinder wall
clearance.

squirt oil into cylinder to coat.

there should some mark to denote the top of the rings
first read manufacturer's recommendation for ring gaps.
lay out all the rings by type, top, middle, bottom (for location description)
top ring
use one of your pistons (carefully) and press into cylinder the depth of top
ring land.
use feeler guage to determine ring end gap.
if too small grind off end to desired length
use feeler guage to determine ring end gap.
hopefully things measure out to desired measurement (top ring gap)

repeat process for middle ring

bottom ring
place thin/scrapper/thin ring

after placing all the rings in their grooves.
place ring compressor over the piston
tighten and compress rings
squirt oil around piston & ring compressor.

place appropriate piston into it's cylinder bore.
tape with dead blow hammer handle until piston
rings have completely driven into cylinder bore.
stop when piston is right at top dead center or flush
with the top of the case.

slowly rotate crank until rod comes up in cylinder.
insert piston wrist pin through access hole.
install piston wrist pin c clips.

repeat process for other pistons.

there you short block / case halves are done.

if i overlooked anything chime in.
