The clock piece should just pop out. Then unscrew the clock from the plastic piece. I would leave the clock plugged in though underneath the pod because it runs the airbag and abs, i believe.

Can you explain this as it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. If the current is going to the clock, and the clock is removed, there will simply be no power demand from the clock. How would this affect the abs and airbags?

theres an airbag light on 06+ models in which it matters. It says "passanger airbag OFF/ON" and it lights up. If you take off the clock, then the airbag light will go on in the dashboard because it broke the circuit and the airbag would be messed up.

Oh, I see, so if I'm doing this on my 04 (which is the install that I am doing next), I don't need to worry about airbags or abs? There isn't any airbag lights on the clock piece.

Thanks for the explaination, this makes sense to me now, and it sounds like it could be very detrimental to unplug this on the 06+ models.

Yup pre-06's don't have to worry as there's no "Pass Airbag light" in the clock. Also, if the airbag light on the instrument cluster comes on, NONE of the airbags in the car go off in the event of an accident. (Which is pretty stupid IMHO)

Yeah whole process is pretty easy. The hardest part is wiring the gauges for power and illumination. As Peleg says just work slowly and dont rush anything and it should be pretty simple.
