You get better results to take apart the reflector and paint everything separately.

I'm sorry to be asking so many questions. I just don't want to mess it up. I take out the lights and then spray the reflector and spray the hole housing?

Correct, once you start looking at everything and start doing the actual job everything in the DIY will make more sense.

you can use one I wish I did. Takes a bit longer but you can't mess it up or melt the lights

Any one had any problems with lenses fogging up or collecting water during winter season or car washes? Very expensive head lights to replace!! Will they retain their seal?

Sucks the 07's apparently have that ugly rectangle hole. Any solutions?

Nice write up! I have an 05 sti and am looking to do this to my headlights... would it be a similar process with the 05 headlights as with these?

Don't remove the reflector paint it with a color of your choice. Here is what I did.

JDM Front End with Custom Headlights

Before this current look I tried removing the orange reflector and just putting a piece of clear reflector behind the open rectangle. I think Dragicon, a member, has this look currently. It just didn't seem to flow quite as well as I hoped. So I painted the reflectors a silver color to match the 06 taillights. That look did not quite please me either. After this I went for the JDM look by having the reflectors vacuum metalized (which is the process that is used to chrome coat plastics). Keep in mind you cannot have any paint on something that is going to be metalized, it must be just bare plastic. But really I think you must decide what to do based on the color of your car. For example, I think white cars look amazing with the headlight housings painted black. Black cars do as well but I just prefer the chrome look with WRB.
