Default Fumoto install question

I bought a Fumoto quick drain plug and have a couple of possibly stupid install questions:

1) Do I install it with the included washer, or do I use a Subie crush washer?
2) Do I tighten it using their instructions (hand tighten, then turn with wrench 1/4 turn), or use a socket and tighten to torque specs of normal drain bolt?

Thanks

Brad
