Also besides the springs do you have to change any other suspension components such as the struts, will the stock struts be able to handle the pinks.
Everything I've read about the STi pink springs indicate that they match up very nicely with the stock struts, some say even better than the stock springs.

Curious, I just picked up an '05 CGM STi two weeks ago. Are the '04 stock struts red? What about the '05s? I looked under mine yesterday and the struts are black. Sorry for the newb post. Like I said, just curious.

That would explaine it. I've seen the comparison list between 04 and 05, but never saw this mentioned.

Thanks!

Thanks for the awesome write-up.

BTW, are there any problems with using these springs on a 2005 STi? I see above that they changed the color of the strut from red to black, but is that the only difference?

They fit the same. I have a 2005 with the pinks.

Guys, the local Autozone didnt carry the external barclamp style spring compressor, is this a must for the fronts?
And I read that its not needed for the rears. true?

Yes. It is a must for putting the springs on the front. Some people have done it without them... I tried, but I did the install by myself and I couldn't compress the spring all alone ...

If you have another person helping you, it might be possible.

And certainly, you don't need it for the back struts.

Good luck.

Bump for a great write up! Though I only have 1000 miles on my car, these are on the top of my list of things to do.

I'm not too sure about this but someone told me that if you were to get springs that dropped the car at all you need to get new struts to accomodate because the struts are supporting a lot more weight than they're supposed to. I am looking to buy the pink springs also but if I have to buy new struts as well I think i'll just go with coilovers...

and another thing, does anyone have the pink springs with a v-limited lip? pics?
