Default left rear lower strut bolt...STUCK

okay so me and my friend spent a good hour trying to loosen ONE
bolt that stood between me and new springs... finished the fronts just fine... did the right rear.. little trouble, but we got it taken care of. then we got the left rear upper strut bolt out no problem, then we get to the lower one.... it seems like it is way over torqued. we broke two ratchets trying to loosen it. then we used the spare tire wrench and it is screwed up on the inside now... we sprayed the shiz out of it with wd40 so maybe some luck in the morning. any of you guys experience this? any suggestions?

thanks in advanced!!

kyle

Suggestions:

-Heat the surrounding area with a torch
-Try tightening it a bit, then backing it out
-Use a breaker bar with a pipe
-impact gun
-bigger impact gun

I had the same problem with an acura crank pulley bolt, nothing worked, and I couldnt heat it. 1/2" impact wouldnt work, 3/4" impact zipped it right off.

did you use the impact to remove the top bolt, as i suggested? if so howd that work for ya?

i would heatthe actual nut itself with a torch then impact. this will allow to nut to expand over the unexpanded bolt. but dont heat too much or itll just break.

wd40 is no where near as good as PB Blaster.Try that.

If that doesn't help, and the above suggestions, cut the damn thing off.

Did you get the bolt off? I had the same problem with the right rear lower bolt. We broke a socket trying to get it off. It was ridiculous. We only had an electric impact gun and it was a too big to fit in there.

We finally got it off after 3 rounds of PB Blaster, 1 breaker bar, 1 wrench (to keep the whole thing from spinning), 1 impact socket, and the biggest friend there (to stand on the breaker bar).
