Default 1:How do I get rid of the THUMP noise? 2: Wierd winding noise from turbo spooling up?

Hello Everyone,

I'm still pretty new to this particular forum and I have a quick questions. I tried to search but didn't quite find anything.

Everytime I switch gears around 5k rpm i hear a thump from under/around the gearbox. Has anyone else experience this problem?

Also sometimes I hear a really loud winding noise from the turbo spooling up. This is a pretty recent problem. Its not just spooling sound, its sounds a lot louder. I used to hear it only when I made a right or left turn with the foot on throttle half way but now i hear it in first and second gear if I floor it. Any ideas??

Any help will be appreciated =)

Thanks,

aNeeL

I would probably guess the whinning noise is caused by the center diff. Let a fellow suby driver ride with you or you ride with them in their car to compare the noise. I had it in mine when I first got it but it went away when I switched over to a different trans fluid. Either that or I just got used to it. Also, I would say it's the rear diff clunking when you shift but it only does it if you're shifting and releasing the clutch fast.

Some turninconcepts bushings will kill the clunk problem.
