sealant everywhere!!

i finally got around to taking my right headlight off because it was getting condensated. i got rid of all the water that was in the headlight baked it and took the cover off and there was sealant everywhere!!i bought this car used and the previous owner did a horrible job.i mean horrible a third grader could have done a better job. i wish i could take pictures and show u guys but i dont have a digital camera.my question is...is there an easy way of getting the sealant off easier?? right now its a PITA.

The sealant is a little easier to deal with when its warm..got a heat gun?

Depending on where the sealant is, the goo gone can adversely effect it.

Use a heat gun or possibly a hair drier to get it tacky but not super gooey then try pulling and rolling off by hand.

yea and dont use any harsh chem like MEK becouse it will melty melt

Oh god MEK! If you actually have access to that stuff I really hope you know how to use it! You could degrease a guido with that stuff!!

Yea in aviation its all around and the smell makes my bollocks tingle no kids for meeeeeeeee. And yes it is very effective on the dirty I-ties ....(jk to all persons of Italian decent your hair is really not that greeezy...or is it ??)

Yea both my grandfather and uncle were on the flight line for the Marines and they said that stuff is pretty rough

Yea i was told to put a mask on if i wanted to have kids and I said I didnt. They responded with how about ever and then of course I masked up. But MEK will take off annnnnything including skin lol

just take your time with it and dont use any chemicals...

a slight bit of heat may help... just rub it off...
