It all depends on your mechanical ability but the first time I did it it only took 45 min because all of the bolts on the heat shield were rusted on.

Give yourself at least a couple hours to be safe. Taking your time is a good thing. Trying to do any project in a hurry is bad news waiting to happen. Some peoples claims of less than an hour for their first time seem a little optimistic. I think it took me close to that long just to get the intercooler back on .

Mine took 2 hours on a lift. The tuner told me he had to jack up the engine an inch or 2 to get the DP to fit. FWIW it's a bellmouth catted invidia

to install a aaftermarket downpipe is easier than installing the stock one back on...
an hour and a half to istall an aftermarket one and like 145 for thestockone... both these times with jackstands...
not too bad.. i like to tak emy time...

You can probably shave off a little time if you spray some pb blaster on the bolts the night before. But probably isn't a big issue on your '07. Having the right tools is what is going to save the most time. Ratches with extensions or ratchet wrenches preferable. The one on the inside bottom at the top of the DP is hard to get to from some angles.

i would say about 1 hour if you hit it with pb blaster the night before, but if you miss thred one of the bolts and have to cut it with bolt cutters, than it will take you about 2 days, 1 day to find the bolt cutters, and 1 day to return the bolt cutters to a friend with also a 6 pack.

Agree with above. Plan on a few hours if it is your first time. It may take much longer if you don't have the right tools and have to go back/forth to the hardware store. I would highly recommend a flexhead 14mm socket to get that last DP bolt. You will also need to have the front of the car on jackstands or ramps. Because your car is new, the rust shouldn't be too bad, but you'd be surprised how quickly the nuts/bolts can freeze up.

3+ hrs... in the dark and looking for tools. Plus I had a fitment issue with one of the main bolts. Had to grind down the outer rim / ring a little.

Use a new factory gasket where the dp bolts to the turbo housing. And you will probably have to spend time modifying the turbo heatshield if you want to reinstall it.

2nd time took me 2 hours, plus some time for a lunch break

Give yourself plenty of time - leave a full day for it, and another day for a shop to fix it if you make any mistakes better safe than sorry.

Take your time, its not hard...

Jesse
