Default TIC 06 Shift linkage Bushings help

Hey guys I just got my TIC Holy Shift kit and I'm installing it right now, I'm in the process of removing the Roll Pin to release the linkage but it will not come out! I've been punching away at it for the last hour and i'm gettin nowhere fast. I even tried removing the front bolt from the linkage but its too long and jam's the frame. How can I get the roll pin out, am I supposed to punch out the middle on because its not budging. Please help me out guys.

I lowered the tranny a bit, and pulled it away from the bolt. After a bunch of grunting, etc it came out. I wasn't able to get the pin out either.

You will see there is one roll pin inside the other. Treat both pins as one!

Use a large punch to get started this way you don't have to worry about a tiny thing being right on it. A long 1/2" or 3/8" socket extension that you don't care about helps with this.

Give it a good HARD smack. It takes a good one to get it moving. We have a 3lb mini sledge that makes life much easer for this.

Once you have the pin flush with the rod then switch to the 1/4" punch.

Oh, if it's dirty or rusty then use some PB Blast first.

Oh, and did you see the instructions on our site? Look on the lower left of the page for the menu selection of "installation quick links."

be SURE to use some grease, and if you're paranoid about the pin coming out since you smacked so much then use safety wire on it.

If you REALLY booger up the pin I have a few spares here just in case.

3/32 punch is for the roll pin on the lever itself...

Thanks for the help guys, I LOVE MY SHIFTER! That Roll Pin would not budge at all, so i dropped the jack on the transmission and forced it over to get the linkage bolt off and finished my install. I can't wait to add a Kartboy Short Shifter down the road.

TURN IN CONCEPTS FTMFW!!!!!!
(p.s. please release some bushing kits for the Evo IX MR! )

yea.. once you have the pin moving, it's all good from there. Trying to punch the pin back in... that's the hard part!

A good trick that I used to put the pin back in was I took a 3/8 extension and placed the pin inside the "Cup end" and tapped the other end with a hammer. However, I figured this out after my friend hit my hand with the hammer while I was trying to hold the pin.

Removing the bolt is a lot easier than trying to take that pin out. Even Subaru suggests lowering the trans and pushing the whole thing to the right so the bolt will clear. It took me less than a minute to take that bolt out. I didn't even attempt to tap the pin out cuz I knew it would be even more of a PITA to put it back in.

Same here, moving the tranny over and removing the bolt is the way to go, did it that way twice, once on my 05 and again on the new 07.
