Default TurboXS TBE install this weekend *Updated with pics and video*

Hey guys I just picked up my TurboXS TBE and I am planning on installing it this weekend. I was just wondering if there were any things I should know before I install it. Like tools should I have to make sure I am ready for the job, any things that I should look out for, tips to make install easier...anything. Input would be greatly appreciated thanks - Jake

A 14mm socket and wrech, a 12mm and 10mm as well. And do yourself a favor and invest in some PB Blaster as well.

Don't know where you are but AutoZone and Advanced carry it. Good luck with that exhaust because it's really loud. I just got cited for mine and it's not as loud as yours. From now on, at night I'm throwing the gun quieter in, you should too!!!!

Also make sure you start bright and early whether you have a friend to help or not. Just to alot yourself some time if things go wrong. The hardest part of the whole thing is getting of the stock heatshield, everything else is a piece of cake. It would be good if you have a torque wrench and breaker bar or power tools.

Here's a good ref: BEST DAMN WRX DOWNPIPE UPPIPE install cobb stage 2 - ScoobyMods

I noticed there are more screws than noted in this write up on the heatshield, take your time and feel around. Spray PB Blaster like crazy.

Good luck

Like everyone else has said, PB Blaster. Lots and Lots of PB Blaster.

If possible get the car up in the air the night before and spray all the bolts down with PB Blaster to really give them time to soak.

A big breaker bar is always handy. Some extra metal pipe/jack handle/"cheater bar" may be needed too.

I installed the exhaust yesterday took me about 5 hours from start to finish. I went to get PB blaster and the auto store was out so I ended up using WD40 which worked fine. My breaker bar was a godsend in this install. It sounds really mean. I have not really noticed a big power increase, but I guess I need engine managment to really see a power increase Ill prolly get some EM next month. Anyways heres a pic of the exhaust.

I did my TBE install two days ago. I had access to a lift so it was pretty easy and I've done it once before.

Lucky you, I had to use jackstands which prolly made the install 2x more difficult.

Today on my way home my check engine light came on with the blinking cruise light. I thought since I have the TBE with the cat that it should not throw a CEL?

are you serious dude. Your problem is you do not have any engine management. You've been on this forum for how many months now?
