I am getting a Utec this month so I guess I will be able to fix my problem when I get it.

How big on mods do you plan on going, cause the UTEC is good depending on how severe ur mods are. I had it on my last STi and it made great power 408 whp but since it is a piggy back ecu my daily driving was very rough. the factory ecu and the UTEC seemed to fight for which was going to manage the engine! If you stay pretty light it will work great but if you go big you might not like it!

scutzi128 you might want to consider a cobb tuning reflash instead with a cel delete, i know perren makes it and a couple of other companies do as well. but it all depends on what your future mods will be. Good luck.

I am planning for now to be at stage 2 untill next year when I will upgrade to a fp green 3" 8cm. So you are saying don't go utec? The main reason I wanted a UTEC was because I would be able to tune it myself with out dishing out an additional $200 for software.

If you plan on tuning ur car yourself make sure you REALLY KNOW WHAT U R DOING! Tuning a car is not easy if you've never done it before, make sure that someone that knows what they r doing is helping u! If not u could do more damage than good to the car. But the UTEC was good with wide open throttle but daily driving i could feel the transition between the ecu's and it was very annoying and a rough transition. not sure about emissions in ur state but you might benefit more from a stand alone like the element tuning hydra or the aem. But those are very hard to tune yourself, the UTEC would be alot easier to learn. so it depends on how picky u r with ride quality. Either way i would recommend to dyno tune the car not just on the street by yourself.

Ill take some if ya want...also for the CEL I tried doing the mechanical fix stacking 2 non foulers on top of each other then the 02 sensor into them. I will let you know if this solves the CEL problem.
