Default Need Help ASAP

Hey guys/gals I finally got "harassed" by a cop, because of the stigma associated with our cars. Got sited for my exhaust, said it was too loud. This story is longer than this. So I threw in my silencer in and went down to the dmv. State decibel level is 74 in CT I came in at 87. Now, I'm attempting to put back on the stock muffler section so I can pass and then put my aftermarket back on. The muffler wont align for obvious reasons to my 3inch mid-pipe. I can only get one bolt in.

Does anybody know of a fix, besides putting in the stock mid-pipe as well?

Or should I just tighten it down as tight as I can with the one screw, go take the test and pass?

It doesn't sound like you got harrassed because of the "stigma associated with our cars"; it sounds like you got cited because your exhaust (even with a silencer) exceeds your local noise ordinance.

It probably wasn't too difficult for the police officer to realize you were over the decibel limit.

Not taking sides here....but I think it's safe to say you weren't harrassed.

you'll need a 3" to 2.5" adapter to make your axleback work.

WBR on Nasioc.com makes the 3 to 2.5 conversion.

Whatever, like I said there's more to the story, it was highlighted in red for a reason. I just didn't decide to post it becuase it's too long.

74 db is your state limit? I have a hard time believing that. I don't think the stock STi muffler will even pass with a law like that.

That's the same effin thing I thought, I said watch me put the stocker back on and it not pass, and have to argue with them that this came with the car. I looked it up though, it is 74db, unless the document I found was old and there is a new noise level. This is the perfect opp to vent, but I'm going to be cool.

maybe its also different how they measure it. maybe the dB is so low because they measure it at idle (lol) or from 6 feet away.

Well I've been notified by WBR over on Nasioc that the adapter is backordered.

Does anyone else know where I could get one?

Or could I borrow it just so I can pass then give it back?

LOL, good thinking I'll give that a try. Put it like this, got pulled over for speeding, I wasn't. Got a ticket for my plate being on the dash instead of on the bumper, was told plead not guilty, throw it on and they'll throw it out. Got cited for my exhaust being too loud, have to got DMV now. Where the F is my ticket for speeding? That section had lines drawn thorugh it!
