Default worth drive home for??...

just wondering how long roughly does it take to install a set of springs on the sti? I just bought a set from cobb and was looking to get them installed by a local dealership until they quoted me for the job. ($510) I would do it myself like I did for my first car but Im not home with no access to a lift and powertools and whatnot unlike at home where I'll have my father's shop down the road. But it looks like a i might have no other choice but to drive down there for a day, however, would it be worth just to get it done by another shop due to a certain level of difficulty required to install them. Or is it pretty basic anyway? if i do go down, im looking to put in my stock airbox back too...

thanks for any info/advice

$510? Are they on crack?

Find a local install day going on and it will probably cost you a 6 pack.

It's not a hard thing to do, breaking some of the bolts free is a little tricky and over all it's a bit of a PITA but it's not that bad of and install, NO WAY should it cost that much. I wouldn't pay a shop more than $100-$150 to do it. It didn't take us more than 2 hours from driving the car into the garage til we drove it out, with airtools and a lift it should be even easier.

It can be a bit confusing if you have never done it before. It took maybe 3.5 hours to springs and an ALK install. For a shop it shouldn't take more than a couple hours. The only thing you really need power tools for is to get the take off the bolt that holds the top-hat on, otherwise you'll need a recessed wrench, an allen key, and a lot of patience. Everything else is do-able without.
