For many years, the Impreza market has never had direct access to affordable Bilstein shocks due to the influence of a large UK based rally company.

BUT as many of you know, GTWORX has developed an option with Bilstein for the GH chassis Subaru Impreza WRX that comes as a kit with RCE Yellow springs that were designed in conjunction with the dampers. Excellent handling and ride quality from a serious shock and spring system upgrade. The pics below are the kit on a 2011 WRX with the rear circlip in the standard middle setting:









And as many of you have figured out, we're doing it now for the GR chassis STI as well.

These are indeed currently being developed and fine tuned for the GR STI chassis. They will be available for a SPRING release.

And since they're are many out there with RCE Black and Yellow springs already out there we wanted to officially let the cat out of the bag. They will be available as a package with RCE springs OR you can use them with your existing RCE Blacks and Yellows.

These GTWORX Bilstein dampers feature inverted front monotube struts, rear monotube shocks, GTWORX and Bilstein developed SPORT valving matched to RCE Yellows with plenty of gas pressure and low-speed damping for excellent handling, with digressive high speed valving to maintain comfort for a daily driver. The rear shocks feature an adjustable cir-clip for +/-5mm and +/-10mm of ride height change.

The objective is NOT to offer a TIME ATTACK shock, nor do we expect you to have to cut open your oem shocks, getting messy oil everywhere etc and use inserts inside your stock housings. We want to make a simple set it and forget SPORT SHOCK with matching springs. To be clear this is NOT a coilover, but a OEM fitment strut/shock set up with fixed perches just like stock. These are designed for sedan and hatchback using RCE Black or Yellow springs.

Comfortable, but with German sports type handling prowess. With THAT said...these will be excellent on the track!

Reviews of the WRX set-up:

I could also immediately see turn in was much better, and even with the stock roll bars flat as a pancake, no roll, no pitch, no dive. I could not push to hard down the canyon on my first drive into town as I had the wife and daughter with me.

Later I drove the car on the road up the mountain I live next to, 10 miles of dirt and gravel logging road (the way to the xmas tree farm, also happens to emanate from essentially my front yard), very very twisty and fairly rough and today very wet (winter in the PNW). They were amazing, somehow the roughness of the road actually smoothed the ride right out. It was beautiful, turns right in when I used to get Tons of under steer were just point and shoot at 30% above what I usually did when it was dry or tacky (it was very sloppy today).


I had not expected them to perform so well in the gravel/dirt and left the sways stock to see how they would do by them selves as I like to rally cross. Glad I did, absolutely neutral and just flowing from corner to corner. Not to much flowing as again the wife and child were with me, again it was an xmas tree run.

So a trip back down the mountain at much greater speeds than usual with far more confidence due to the total lack of under steer, flat neutral and no hesitation as I waited for the weight to transfer from side to side (mmm, platform).

Have put 250 miles on it now, and yesterday followed fuscopd's advice and took it through two hours of horrible chunky farm roads (might as well be off-road) and twisties yesterday to speed up the seasoning process. INCREDIBLE. The car does whatever I want it to do, goes where I point it, and hugs the road. No more floating. No more borbling along. No more wondering. And the regular ride is smoothing out more with every hundred miles! Tom loves it too, I can see there are going to be "who gets to drive?" issues in the future. We are

nothing official yet, but GTWORX says close to the existing GTWORX/BILSTEIN WRX pricing. I know GTWORX did a INTRO PRICING when they released the GTWORX/BILSTEINS, so expect that type of pricing for these.

I'm also interested. The only thing that holds me back is no damper stiffness adjustability. I like driving aggressively on gravel/dirt surfaces as well as pavement, so the adjustability would be very nice. Though, because of this, it looks like I'd be going with some coilovers as adjustable dampers in a strut seem to be non-existent on this car for some reason while they exist on other cars quite easily.

For this reason GTWORX is working on a middle ground for stiffness.

To be VERY clear here.

This set up is DESIGNED for the BLACKS OR THE YELLOWS. It is designed as a combo for these 2 springs with regards to valving, rates, travel and bump stops. GTWORX is working with BILSTEIN USA on this chassis just as they did a year ago for the GH IMPREZA WRX.
