Did the first oil change since upgrading to the Killer B oil pan kit with oil pick up and baffle. Here is a pic of the Killer B spectacular underbody

I have the same headers and pan, just curious, what do you do to prevent the oil from the filter from dripping all over the header, and do you shoot oil out everywhere when you open the drain plug, mine is like a fountain.

True, lol it does get messy. I use aluminum foil to wrap the headers during an oil change. It does the trick to keep the headers clean, and it only takes a minute.

Today I was driving to my shop to get the Killer B AOS installed. On the way this happened:

Guy ran a red light as my car and another car were going through an intersection. I took the hit, which then launched me into the other car going almost parallel to me, and cause me to spin out. The other car wound up driving onto the median and hitting a street sign.

Alas, I think she's gone. Far too soon. I would have driven her for another 100k miles.

Well, now it's time to get my money's worth from the guy's insurance company and get ready to buy a 2018 STI. Also, maybe I can work a part out too with the insurance company. Afterall it's going to be sold for scrap. We'll see what happens.

I'm doing fine, sore from the whiplash, but I'll live. I'm going to try to pre-order a 2018 STI very soon. Let the car dealership games begin.

Nice...I am eyeing a 2017 or 2018 sport tech (because RECAROS) so will be looking to possibly order next year...if no other car catches my eye new S3 looks real nice as well but maintenance could be killer in comparison...

It's done, she's officially gone.

This is the end of my build thread. Above is the last pic I took of her.

I sent in the signed vehicle title today. Sadly insurance wouldn't compensate me for my mods, and the ones I wanted to possibly take off the car I didn't have the stock parts anymore. I planned on selling the car in at least 5 years instead of having it be totaled. Lots of lessons learned going through this experience.

New thread in September, when I pickup my 2018 STI Limited. The insurance settlement is going to cover almost all of what I need for the downpayment. I've already got a spreadsheet started pricing out mods. Once I do my Stage 2+ build on this STI, I'm going to insure the parts so that if it happens again, I'll be able to get something from them. I may also keep the stock parts too.

Which reminds me, anyone want some Stock 2013 wheels with tires on them? Tires have plenty of tread on them.

well, sorry to hear about the non-coverage of mods. Here you can't get covered at all if you have any performance-related mods. Anyways, at least they totalled the car, and now you can get your hands on a nice 2018 model. I can't wait to see the 2018 Sport-tech models, which would be the one I'd be interested in.

Look forward to your new car build thread! Keep us updated!
