initial post:
Hy, my name is Simon and I'm a car enthusiast in car hatin' Switzerland.

After reading through the forums and owning my first STI for several months I thought it's time for a journal. although it's not going to be a huuge story.

I went through different cars, all hondas just until now, when a bougth my SWP sedan. hgh, the guys in my crew are still pissed..

started with a Honda CRX, modded it sligthly.
then I had an Honda Integra Type-R with the B18C6 engine.

After that I went for the hothatch CTR FN2

I had it for 3 years and had to decide, either to build a strong engine or go for a car, which has the power right from the factory.
'cause in Switzerland parts such as headers, hi-flow cats, air-intakes and so on are illegal, it would have been a PITA to build the honda.
although the sleeper-kind-of-car (nothing special on the exterior) would have been nice. the K20A in the CTR is a good base and with NA tuning you can get around 250whp..

but then, I ran into a STI and decided to go with the factory solution.

next to the STI i built up an CRX with an B18C6 out of an ITR with my cousin, it's nearly finished an will be a track dedicated fun car. pics on requests..

some Pics in the middle of Switzerland:

The first mod was the Prova D-shaped Steering wheel.
really needed, I hated the truck sized OEM wheel. coming from Hondas, all fitted with much smaller wheels by the manufacturer.

Yesterday I finally managed to install the Perrin Swaybars and rear subframe lockdown kit.

not hard to install, took some time but it's easy, if you don't have to do it on ramps or jack stands..

took down the oem swaybars and the subframe screw.

used some talc to prevent the bushings from squeeking

done:

the forum helped me out with the torque sheet to know the nm for the screws

then when I opened the box of the Perrin Endlink kit I was in for a little shock. Saturday night and the parts were not complete. some forgot to put the spacer on top of one ofthe endlinks.. sh**.

but, thanks to a guy, who builds track motorbikes next to us, we were able to machine a replacement and I was happy again.

as you can see the picture, the part with the smooth change of the diameter is from perrin, the one with the "stairs" in the surface is selfmade. took him 20 minutes. luckily I catched him right before he wanted to go home.. I'll check back the piece in a few days, but it's made from stainless steel, so I assume it will hold up. this guy ist just awesome. already made a relocated throttle guide for my friends JRSC ITR. NASA solutions ftw!

left perrin, right selfmade:

After I got the part, install was a piece of cake.

done:

a pic to annoy my friend with:

very happy with it, the bay did the trick. shipping was around 80 $ + customs.

pic, as seen a few hundred times in the forums

plus a pic with the OEM roof rails for my boards.

Default protune

got protuned last week and couldn't get the smile off my face afterwords

as you might read in my topic, "building" a car in Switzerland isn't that easy.

nevertheless, with the right shop in charge and dedicated people lots of things are possible.

story began in the mornin.
car was put on the dynapack dyno using these adapters:
example picture from thor racing uk

on the entry runs with the factory tune, the car pulled strong and made 313 hp (supposed to have 305). the engine lost power after 2 pulls because the car suffered from heat soak. more than to exspect.. the ECU corrected by turning back the ignition..
so we cooled it down with open hood and the vent on and tried again..

same game.. first pull good, second dropped power after peak dramatically.

the tuner had the grillcraft scoop grill under suspicion. so i removed it during lunch break..

he then changed the intake and the car now breaths through an AEM dry intake kit.
the runs were a bit more consistent, but the car again lost power because of the heat.

in the end we achieved what you can find on the sheet below.
average power around 357-360 hp (read 366 hp highest)
505 nm torque (read 520 nm highest)

what equals nearly 300 whp and i'm pretty happy with it.

red: stock
orange: best leveled out shop tune

the intake nearly sounds like there was an EWG. i'm ready for the first discussion with the cops..

and that's were the shops great benefit jumps in. they managed to get the package of my invidia, the intake and the changed software road legal. which is a) very expensive and b) indispensable if you're DD-ing the car.

i'm now really paranoid about the ringland failure, but since the warranty is overtaken by the shop (another big plus) i'll have to live with it *fingers-crossed*

Nice car, welcome aboard....

restrictions are becoming a world wide epidemic not much you can do really....but it seems that you're on the right track (considering your constraints), suspension mods and so forth...

random pics:

I desperately need RA Flaps.
as the first snow of the season revealed..

I don't want this salty mud on my fenders..

is ist hard to take the RA off, will they hurt the paint in any way (like rubbing).
because having them on during summer is somewhat pointless..

Nice car. I like the "Move over" sticker ... I too came from Honda's.

The RA flaps can come off if you want them to... They have a bracket that mounts them, so you can either just remove the flaps and leave the bracket (would look bad imho), or if you want to spend the time taking them off every season, that's doable. I'd say just leave em on. I think they look good on the car...
They shouldn't hurt the paint, as they have a little rubber pad on the brackets where they sit against the paint...

EDIT: Also, I'd say leave em on all year because they don't just protect against dirt/mud/snow, but GRAVEL too... With wide tires and a tapered fender, you don't want those little stone bullets being shot up against the side of your car @ 120KM/h down the highway... y'know? That's what made me want mine...
