Default Vermilion's 08 DGM STi

Bought this car in October of 2008. I've had previously owned a 2005 CGM STi and loved it to death but at the time the payments were killing me. Sold it and played around with a MS3 and Toyota Tundra for a few years before deciding I needed another STi.

I'm not sure the direction I would like to go with this car. I like to drag race but, I hate the thought of breaking my baby on a crappy stretch of 1/8th mile road. I would I think ultimately like to get into amateur Rallying or HPDE's. Though those are nowhere to be found around here in my "lovely" corner of Mississippi. There are plenty of gravel and dirt backroads for fun though.

I will warn everyone ahead of time, I usually never take pics with an actual camera. Most of my pics are spontaneous iPhone shots

I really love this car. To me it isn't quite as "raw" as the 04-07 STi's but, I do like the seats a bit better and the interior overall. The car while a Subie, sounds a lot like 04-07's to me it seems to have its own unique exhaust note.

My car had a rocky start. After loving every second of it, it was brutally taken away from me. Sometime in early December, I had just taken a turn on a small 20mph road. I had just shifted into second (around 20mph) when out of nowhere this 1980something Dodge is RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW. I had about 1/2 a second to get on the brakes hard and then there was an airbag in my face. Apparently from the girl driving the truck, she wanted to take a left right where I was and just turned like I was never there. She said she NEVER saw me (probably on cellphone or doing her makeup) Her 20 something year old truck had a broken headlight, while my 2 month old STi was broken badly.

I'll skip all the insurance hoopla, it just gets my blood boiling anyhow.
Body shop had my car for roughly 3 months and over $14000 in damage (according to them only $1000 shy of total). While they paint is pretty crappy with heavy swirls in it, it has held up surprisingly well. I haven't notice but a few small quirks here and there but, the car runs strong 6 months later. Here are some pics of the car after the wreck (I was doing around 20mph, not sure of her speed) It broke a motor mount, broke the timing belt cover, and threw the timing off (they tried to crank it with the timing off as well, valves run strong to this day but it still worries me a bit).

Well, enough about the past, onto the present!

Bout time you started a journal.

I want a ride in this bad boy since you've gone Stg 2. That exhaust is the siht man. Seriously, one day when I'm not so busy at work we can rallycross down Officer's Lake Road .

Can't wait to see how the mod path goes from here.

Stick out maybe 1.5-2 inches. No way to make em flush unless you cut off the ends maybe? I thought about painting it flat black but, I actually like the way it looks.

Thinking about smoking my taillights. Not sure if I want red outline with smoke in the inside or just smoke the whole light. The lights look good on my Dad's Silver 08, but look out of place on my DGM.
