IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2009 | Hi guys, this is my member journal for my new (to me) Aspen White 2008 Subaru STI. I just bought her locally from a previous owner with only about 10k miles on the clock and a few light mods. The car has been an absolute blast since I bought it and I can't wait to start adding a few more things to really make this car my own. Keep checking back as I will update this thread a lot as things progress. For those who care, this is my second Subaru. I came from a 2005 WRX that I bought brand new back in 05. The car was a lot of fun and rock solid reliable at the same time. After driving the car for a few years, I really got into the Subaru scene, went to some meets, did a ton of research, and ended up with a nicely tweaked stage 2 WRX. I even got into some auto-crossing the last year I had the car which was a blast and hope to get into again next year I always wanted an STI though from the first day I saw one, and I decided to take the plunge and try to find a used STI that wasn't beat to hell (which actually proved to be quite a task). I looked around for a couple months and finally found the exact STI I was looking for which had low mileage and wasn't driven into the ground. And of course the rest is history. An up to date shot of my STI: Some pictures of when I first picked her up: And here's a shot of my old WRX: And here is a list of the mods on the car so far: [Performance] -COBB Accessport V2 93oct [Clark Turner stage 2 e-tune] -Harman Motive catted downpipe -Blitz Nur Spec R catback -PTP turbo blanket -Grimmspeed AOS [Suspension] -Harman Motive 25mm front sway bar -Perrin 22mm rear sway -Kartboy front endlinks -Kartboy front and rear shifter bushings -Swift springs -Whiteline rear camber adjustment kit -Performance alignment (-1.4f / -1.2r) [Interior] -JDM Subaru (Defi) boost gauge (attached to dash with Defi pod) -White JDM Duracon STI shift knob (possible replica, but it's still nice) [Exterior] (none) [Audio] -Alpine iDA-x305 head unit -Alpine speakers -Kenwood under seat powered subwoofer [Other] -Disabled DRL's -Removed intake silencer -Fumoto oil drain valve [On Order] -Auber Instruments digital oil temp gauge [Future Plans] (in no order) -Bigger injectors -Catless downpipe -RCE yellow spring for the GR chassis -Digital gauges -Rear diff bushings -Outrigger bushings -Front lip -New set of wheels/tires for autocrossing -Perrin stubby antenna -New leather shift and e-break boots -Window tint I'll eventually have more planned for the future but this is a start for now. Things will change as time goes on too, so keep checking back!! Thanks for stopping by Last edited by robotvoice; 03-13-2010 at 09:25 PM.. |

As far as cops go...the EWG only opens up under max boost/throttle, so you can control when you want it "open" and release it's fury. It doesn't go crazy the whole time you're driving, so I'm not worried about cops. I usually drive pretty laid back too and I'm always conscious of who's around me. This helps out A LOT if you drive a modified car. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2009 | Update: Just loaded up Clark Turner's custom stage 2 map and the tweaking has begun. The map will be taking advantage of my GS EBCS. I'll report back with results (so far, so good!) |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2009 | I know!!! I never do either...I usually spot a few GD's when I'm out in OC for the weekend but have only seen a handful of GR's so far. It's kind of cool though, I get lots of looks and a few thumbs up here and there from people. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2009 | Updated some of the mods list. I will be installing a Grimmspeed 44mm EWG within the next few weeks. I also just got a stage 2 map from Clark Turner and the car is running great! Also, I just put on my Fumoto oil valve over the weekend and put in some fresh Rotella T 5w40.
