I understand your point.. but you should realize that several of us, myself included, have snapped the attachments (the hooked pieces of wire) on the wire mesh by simply driving the car. Mine snapped while I was launching at an autocross.. and it wasn't even a real launch.

Open up your seat and look at it.. it isn't going to have much of an effect during a rear-ending.

Anyone with updates on how their seats are holding up now? I would liek more support but I am worried about the long term damage to the seat.

I think I could build something though...

I did mine about 6 months ago, and there is absolutely no signs of wear. Put about 10,000 kms (6000 miles) on in that time.

Just undid mine. The bottom one was already broken I think. There were two at the top I unlatched but the bottom one with the vertical black plastic pieces next to the hook was broken on one side.

So far it definitely seems to hold me better. We'll see how i like it after some long trips. Not sure how it will treat my lower back. Anyone with the mod tried any long (hour +) trips?

I did about 4 hours on Saturday.. with 3 the night before. Just a little soreness.. nothing like the aches I'd get driving 25min each way on my daily commute with the screen in place.
