IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 | what did that really do just by unhooking those hooks? |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | It takes away the back support provided by the metal wire...and puts it directly onto the seams that hold the fabric together. Not too smart...if you ask me...to just unhook...maybe lengthen?? BTD. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 | Actually from what I can tell, it's not the seams that hold the fabric together but the two poles that the back support was hooked onto, that now supports your back. It feels rather supportive and doesn't show signs of stressing the seams.. |

| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I tried it on the weekend and the seat felt a lot better but i'm leaning toward the seems stretching. I will get somebody to seat in it to study the function a little better before doing it permanent. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | I'll seat in it for you and you can check it out. Just tell me when and where. I'm on vacation this week...and free whenever. BTD. |

| Professional STI Racer Feedback Score: 3 reviews | It doesn't seem to be putting much stress on the seams for me(5'11 155pounds). It's without a doubt alot better. I took the whole metal thing out the back. I'll probably do something to the hooks to extend them and put it back in. Tempting to do it to the pass. seat too since everyone kinda slides around when I drive lol. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | I took a look at this link for a different STi seat: JDM V9 Seats Side Air Bags Installed! and would be worried about removing the the whole spring support - scroll down to see the whole rear seat cover is removed - there doesn't seem to be any other support in the middle. It appears you would be relying on the tension of the seat cover and foam between the two verticals. I wonder if the 08/09 seat bolsters are constructed in a similar fashion (seems to be) and if so, then it may be a matter of bending the bolster supporting rods inwards, leaving the back spring support. Just a thought, not about to pull apart the seats yet. Last edited by spwong; 06-17-2009 at 12:50 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2009 | Just did this on both seats. Definitely a difference. I'll be keeping an eye on the seams though. |
