i used liquid electrical tape to protect the hooks and they still poked two spots in back of seat . should be able to fix it nice nice and i cut the hooks completely off now. zipties can return feel to stock.

word... cg-lock is the cat's tits in the sti. with or without seat mod it works great and i'm small. will never take it out. cg-lock in my NA miata is kinda a hassle though, its too heavy for that belt so i always close the door on the belt. that won't happen in GR and i think i mentioned it a year ago but if searching cg-lock here some fatty mentioned it doesn't work in GR cos the release cam digs into his stomach... misleading bs!

Agreed! I snagged a CG Lock off ebay last year just to try out and have never taken it out of the car. It is awesome, DD or 'spirited' driving. I'm 6'0", 165 lbs and have never had an issue with fit or comfort. 2 track days and several autoX = nice.

finally did this mod and noticed a difference right away. my bottom clip was actually broken already so i just had to undo the top two. took a bit of effort to get the clips unhooked but definitely a worthwhile mod if you haven't done it yet.

hey guys, i find that the seats give me no lower back support and after i drive for an hr or so my back kills, like its on fire. i was thinking of adding something in there so that it pushes out at my back more?? do you guys think just unhooking the metal thing will help me??

maybe unhook the top two and leave the bottom one. that will definitely change the angle of your back which may help.

Jamie, unhooking them will push your back further in. So technically give you the opposite of what your thinking. Gord has a good idea. If you undo the top and leave the bottom it should give you "lumbar" support type feel.

Just did this mod, the bottom hooks on mine was also broken, I did take the whole thing out had to cut the part were the ring was attached to a mesh screen, have not driven but just sitting on it I could feel a difference...Very nice mod, now I don't have to spend on seats...Thanks....

has anyone had any issues with the seat covers? i am a big guy 6'8 275 and dont want to rip the seats. but its hard enough to fit into the seats i have a sparco evo 3 and that is amazing but i dont want to put it into the car but as i have the seat all the way back and down to the bottom lol i wouldnt mind a nicer ridel. so if any one is riping the seat cover and is big like me and has done it let me know thanks.
